ABOUT NINA TULIO
In 1996, Nina began her career as a hair stylist. She quickly became a salon manager and then a district manager for a chain of 8 salons in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. Impressed by her business acumen and talent for managing multiple salons, the chains' owners invited her to join them as part owner and manager of a chain of salons in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Nina managed 55 employees and had 8 direct reports. With her leadership and drive, she managed to take the chain to a 20% profit in the very first year for all eight stores. She then spent several years heading up the organization. During this time she quickly learned from her mentors how to coach and manage team members, the importance of strong leadership within a salon, how to create and maintain a sustainable brand, how to attract and keep team members that support your salon culture, and most importantly, maintaining strong profit margins in a service based salon business.
Serving her community is another passion for Nina. She sat on the board of the Women's Business Council for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce for the past 3 Years, and was also the VP of the programming committee. Amongst hosting events to benefit local non profits, Nina utilized her platform as a business owner as a way to give back to her community. She has also been recognized in the Lehigh Valley with the Ambassador of the Year Award in 2015 by the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, 40 Under 40 by Lehigh Valley Business, 2016 Business of the Year Corporate Citizen of the Year Finalist, and Woman of Style 2016 by Lehigh Valley Style Magazine.
Creating a Successful Salon
In 2006, she went to work on her own dream. She moved back from Florida and hit the ground running.
Nina founded a successful organic hair and beauty salon in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Her boutique salon, Anthony Ashley has focused on helping her clients be their beautiful best. Over the years she has grown her business from a 600 square foot salon into a beautiful 1,600 square foot full service salon with several full-time talented, educated, and passionate team members. Nina has driven 20 - 30% growth for her salon in consecutive years. Her stylists have also shown significant, consistent annual growth.
In October of 2016, I decided to sell my salon after 11 successful years in business. "It was well thought out and it was time! I am excited for my next venture in coaching and growth management. It is extremely important to me to share my experience, knowledge, my success, and my mistakes with other salon owners and stylists just like you! More importantly it is my passion to inspire and encourage others to grow not only professionally, but personally."
